    When you shop at www.marathonsport.dk , we need a number of information about you. Below you can see what information we collect and what it is used for.

    Required information
    Name and address
    In order to send your goods to you, we need your name and address.

    Email address
    This field must be completed so that we can send you an electronic confirmation.

    Telephone number
    Should there be any problems with your order, it is important that you provide a telephone number so that we can contact you.

    Storage of information
     When you have shopped via www.marathonsport.dk, we are obliged, according to the Danish Accounting Act, to store the information for 5 years, after which it is deleted.

    The registered information
    As a registered user of Marathon Sport, you always have the right to object to the registration, and you have the right to access the information that is registered about you at any time. You have these rights according to the Danish Personal Data Act and inquiries in this regard should be directed to Marathon Sport ApS via e-mail at webshop@marathonsport.dk .

  • Security when paying by credit card
    Marathon Sport, like most other Danish online stores, uses DIBS (Danish Internet Payment System) to handle contact with PBS. The payment system in our online store is secured with a so-called SSL solution. SSL is a system that encrypts all the Dankort and credit card information that you send to us in the store. This means that neither we nor anyone else (with the exception of PBS) can obtain information about your card. The SSL system also ensures that data between your browser and our server cannot be changed.

    Payment options
    When you shop at www.marathonsport.dk, you can pay with Dankort, Visa, Mastercard and Eurocard. As well as MobilePay.

    Save your invoice
    With the goods you will receive an invoice for your purchase from Marathon Sport. You should save this invoice as you save receipts from physical stores, as this invoice documents that you have purchased the goods from us.

    Shopping in our physical stores
    When purchasing in one of our stores, you can return your unused item within 30 days and get your money back. Remember to bring your receipt. However, for sale items, they can only be exchanged within three days of your purchase - we will issue a credit certificate (valid for three years from issue) or exchange for something else.

    We reserve the right to make corrections or errors.

  • TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SUBSCRIBING TO THE NEWSLETTER

    In order to send you our newsletter, Marathon Sport ApS, CVR 27515592, requests the following information:

    - Email address
    - First name
    - Last name (optional)

    Your information is stored securely in a protected database. Only our webmaster and a trusted external partner have access to this data. We guarantee that your information will not be passed on or sold to third parties.

    The newsletter is sent only to those who have actively subscribed.

    By signing up, you can expect to receive 1-4 newsletters per week with current offers, product news and promotions. By signing up, you also agree to receive service messages such as abandoned cart reminders or follow-up emails upon purchase.

    You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link at the bottom of each newsletter or by contacting Customer Service.

    Marathon Sport ApS will store your information until you withdraw your consent. The processing of your data is based on the consent you have given when registering.

  • GDPR and data processors

    Disclosure of personal data to data processors

    To ensure the operation, optimization and personalization of our webshop and marketing, Marathon Sport collaborates with external data processors who process personal data on our behalf in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR).

    Our data processors include, among others:

    Shopify
    – our e-commerce platform, which handles and stores personal data in connection with purchases, payments, customer profiles and order history.

    Clerk.io
    – provides personalized search and product recommendations on our webshop. Clerk.io works without the use of cookies, but processes data about user behavior to optimize search and filtering functions.

    Ka-Ching
    – our POS system in physical stores, which syncs customer data with Shopify to ensure an integrated shopping experience across online and offline channels.

    Klaviyo
    – our email marketing platform, which processes customer information from Shopify to enable targeted communications, including newsletters and personalized offers.

    Google
     - we use services from Google LLC, including Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Tag Manager, for analysis, statistics and targeted advertising. Google processes information about your use of our webshop, including IP address, device information and behavioral data, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and based on your consent.

    Meta
    - we use Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Inc. to track interactions on our webshop and improve targeted advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Meta may process information about your online behavior, IP address and device information for the purpose of remarketing and conversion measurement in accordance with their own terms and your consent.

    Stape.io
     - to improve our data collection and ensure accurate tracking of webshop activity, we use Stape.io. This ensures more accurate measurement of conversions and user interactions. Data is sent to relevant analytics and advertising tools in accordance with GDPR and applicable consent settings.

    External agency
    - we work with an external agency that manages our Google Ads campaigns and has access to our Shopify data to optimize advertising strategies. The agency only processes data according to our instructions and is not allowed to use it for its own purposes.

    All data processors have entered into a data processing agreement with Marathon Sport, which ensures that personal data is only processed for the purposes we have specified and in accordance with our instructions. The data processors may not use the information for their own purposes.

    Personal data may be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA if one of our data processors has servers located outside this area. In such cases, we ensure an adequate level of protection through the use of the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other relevant security measures.

    We do not disclose personal data to other third parties without the user's express consent, unless we are legally obliged to do so.


Terms and Conditions for Marathon Sport Plus


By signing up for the Marathon Sport PLUS loyalty program, you accept the following terms:


1. Collection of Information
 When registering for the program, we collect the following personal information:

- First name and last name

- Email address

- Postal code

- Gender

- Date of birth

- Consent to marketing

This information is used to administer your membership and for marketing, see the points below.

2. Purpose of Processing – Establishment of Customer Profile
We may create a customer profile based on your purchase history and the information you provide to us for the following purposes:

- Sending newsletters and product information

- Tailored and targeted marketing

- Customer segmentation and analysis

- Sending promotional offers via email, SMS and Wallet

The processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing you with relevant offers and communications, cf. GDPR Article 6(1)(f). We have assessed that this interest outweighs the possible disadvantages for you.

If we process your information for specific marketing purposes that require explicit consent, this will only happen if you have given it, cf. GDPR Article 6(1)(a). See more under the marketing section below.

3. Marketing and Consent
By registering, you consent to receive:

- Newsletters and campaigns from Marathon Sport

- Marketing via Apple Wallet / Google Wallet, including the use of location data

- Product recommendations and reminders via email and/or SMS

You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in newsletters or by contacting us.

4. GDPR and Your Rights
Marathon Sport processes your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.

You have the right to:

- Insight into the information we process about you

- Rectification, deletion and restriction of your data

- To object to processing

- To have your data transferred to another data controller

5. Cancellation and Deletion
You can unsubscribe from Marathon Sport PLUS at any time. This must be done in writing via email to:

Upon cancellation, the following will be deleted:

- Your customer profile and all personal information

- All earned but unused points

- All related marketing preferences

The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

6. Exclusion and Abuse
In the event of abuse, speculation or breach of these terms, we reserve the right to:

- Cancel membership without notice

- Delete points and customer profile without compensation

7. Employee relations
Employees of Marathon Sport or its subsidiaries cannot participate in Marathon Sport PLUS or earn points.

8. Changes to Terms and Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update and change these terms and our privacy policy. The most recent version will always be available on our website. In the event of significant changes, you will be informed via email.
